Attention USMLE Step 1 Score Prediction Calculator - using Qbank, NBME, etc

Hey all...I found an interested step 1 predictor here and I think it seems like a good one. Check out the link, it seems to give predicted scores based on an algorhythm designed from previous results...including Qbank, MCAT, NBME, etc! Quite cool!

I really enjoyed this link - thanks, Erik! The algorithm outputs a three-digit score, and this prompted me to search for a way to translate it into the more-readily understandable 2-digit score. Someone with a brain bigger than mine explained that it is a linear regression with the equation y = 0.35x + 12 .
Plugging this into Excel allowed me to generate the following ready-reckoner, with an accuracy of 0.12!

EDIT: I found this formula when was browsing the net.

(USMLEWorld avg. x 2.4) + 84 = approximate Step 1 three-digit score

It might be too simple for real conversion - but at least it gives some idea.

Wow...thanks Gary. So you're saying I'm safe with a 255 eh? I can do that! Exam is in just a couple of months...after this week with Prof it's time to hit it hard.

Default Question

Are you supposed to input all the data for a score in the calculator. What if I have not completed the NBME yet?

No, just whatever you've done. It will give you a slightly different score based on each of the pieces of data you input.

Do make sure you have time to do an NBME exam - in my experience they were the closest in content to the real exam.
